When I told people I was going to create a women’s travel group for those 50+, the response was very positive. Then I was asked, “Where do you go?” Well, that is a good question. What type of tours am I going to offer?
Over the years, I’ve collected videos from travellers I’ve seen online, scribbled down notes of places I’ve read, picked up travel books and joined online groups to find out about where others are travelling.
Currently, I’m going through this information to put together the trips for 2026. One trip I would like to offer is to Paris, France and areas outside Paris. Ever since I went to Paris back in the Fall of 2013, I've always wanted to go back to explore more. At this time, I do not have all the details worked out yet. Once I'm ready, I will do another blog post. To give you an idea of what you can do in Paris, I've listed some things you can do below.
Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour – This is the best way to see a sampling of what’s in the area. I tend to ride the entire loop the first time to see everything. Then on the second time round, I would have made my decision on where to get off and start exploring.
Arc de Triomphe – I didn’t get a chance to explore this more except take photos while passing by.
Eiffel Tower – when I was there, they were doing renovations to add in a restaurant. That restaurant is now completed.
The Louvre – many different sections to this museum. Their displays changes during the year.
Notre Dame de Paris – guided tours available
Leonardo de Vinci’s home and a visit to the surrounding area – a few hours south of Paris on the TGV train.
Cooking/baking class – for those who want to learn a bit of French cuisine
Afternoon tea - lots of different establishments to explore
Wine Tastings - for those who love a good bottle of wine!
Bakery Hopping - I loved the bakeries!
Local Restaurants - let's find those restaurants the locals visit
Learn to make your own perfume class
Carcassonne – south of France. Famous for the walled citadel. This can be a separate trip on its own or be part of the Paris trip.
Visits to neighboring quaint towns
If you have always wanted to visit Paris or been thinking about going, this would be a great opportunity to go with other like-minded women. If this sounds interesting to you, please let me know by sending me a message on the Contact Us tab. If you’re not part of my mailing list for updates, go ahead and fill in your name and email address on the bottom of the Home page.

This sounds like an amazing way for women 50+ to explore Paris and nearby towns safely and enjoyably! One tip for making the trip stress-free is to arrange reliable airport transportation ahead of time. It ensures smooth arrivals and departures, letting everyone focus on sightseeing, culinary experiences, and local tours without worrying about logistics.
