On September 19, 2025 I joined a number of travel advisors from the Lower Mainland for a farewell tour of Royal Caribbean’s ship Radiance of the Seas.  She had been cruising Alaska for 24 years and this year was her last Alaska season.  Next year a new ship will take her place.  Here are some photos from the ship.

Our farewell lunch. A sampling of what myself and others on our table ordered for lunch.

Next year Ovation of the Seas will come to take her place cruising Alaska.  She will be doing northbound and southbound cruises only.  No roundtrip cruises from Vancouver.  A northbound cruise would take you from Vancouver to Seward, Alaska.  A southbound would start in Seward, Alaska and cruise down to Vancouver.

Whether taking the northbound or southbound cruise, consider one of their multiday land tours to see Alaska’s interior.  Explore places like Denali National Park and see the tallest peak in North America which stands at 3,722 metres (20,210 feet), stay in cozy lodges, and ride their dome train to see the rugged and lovely scenery that is Alaska.  If this sounds intriguing, contact me and let’s talk about a future Alaska cruise for you.
